Keeping Your Fundraiser On Track During COVID-19: Helpful Tips From Teachers
We don’t have to remind you that schools and businesses are operating under stay at home orders all across the United States.
It’s likely your school year hasn’t gone as planned, but we know your group still needs funds for all the essential work it does.
Now is an excellent time to get your planning and products in order so that your next fundraiser can be a smashing success. We want to share positive things that we see our successful customers are doing to succeed despite the unprecedented COVID-19 situation.
Connect with Your Donors
Many in-person events may be canceled, but it doesn’t have to stop you from communicating with your donors. Collecting email addresses and phone numbers really matters. Keeping in touch with your donors keeps your cause in the front of their minds, and it can help keep your fundraising sales profitable.
You can even start a Facebook group for your donors and your team. Keep your team posted about how things are going with your fundraiser, and keep donors updated with news about your cause using Facebook groups.
Plan for your fundraiser
While everyone should be following their local stay-at-home guidelines, it’s an excellent time to plan your fundraiser, so you’re ready once all establishments re-open.
Reserve your fundraising locations and make calls and emails to your team to get your group ready and let them know what is expected of them.
Research Products/Discuss
Now is an excellent time to be researching what products will sell best for your fundraiser. Even if you’re at home, you can still discuss ideas with your team. Many students may already be using Zoom video conferencing, which can be downloaded free on Android and IOS phones. Having a Zoom meeting with your team is a great way to make sure you’re prepared, and it can help make your fundraiser the most profitable fundraiser yet.
Collecting Money Remotely
Teachers have been telling us that when they cannot meet with students, they’ve found payment apps such as Venmo, CashApp, or PayPal very useful. Teachers are using these apps to collect the money that students raise from selling candy. By using a payment app, a student fundraiser can sell candy and send you the profit remotely from their home.
You can download either Venmo, CashApp, or PayPal for free on Android and IOS phones.
